A kick-ass heroine with pyrokinetic abilities and a license to kill. Enter Alec...vampire, scholar, and worst of all—fan. What could possibly go wrong?

Diana, the fire Elemental, is nearly burned out. Tired of traveling the world and losing innocent lives, she's slowly slipping into a depression that may consume her. But when she discovers that a child's life is in danger, she feels compelled to help. However, teaming up with one of the most powerful vampires in North America is the last thing she wants to do.

Academic scion, Alec Broussard prefers his studies over the opulent and vicious lifestyles of vampires. And when he learns of another missing child, Alec can't shake the suspicion that his coven may be to blame. Joining forces with an Elemental may be his only hope to save the child and clear his coven's name.

As Diana and Alec work together to save the children, they must relinquish their prejudices and trust one another. In time, Alec is wearing down the walls around her. But just when their friendship intensifies, Alec's future is threatened. Now, it's up to Diana to save him before it's too late. Can this Elemental find the fire within her to protect him once and for all?

No spice :(. I thought this character's story would continue but it looks like each book features a different FMC. If you're looking for a good, clean paranormal romance this is for you. It's just not for me. The world being is unique. I appreciate that Alec isn't your typical mysterious and brooding vampire. He's intelligent, inquisitive and caring. Diana is an elemental, a fire elemental to be exact. She and her three "sisters" mete out justice under the direction of The Mother, an omnipotent power. Elementals are called rather than born and most supernaturals think elementals are a myth. There are also vampires, weres, witches and humans. Diana is independent, to her own detriment at times, determined, brave and compassionate. In a previous mission, Diana saved a little girl, Katie. Now, Katie is missing. Diana makes it her mission to rescue Katie. Alec inserts himself into the investigation as an employees son was taken as well. Diana is less than enthused about this. They slow

Diana is a strong character with a sassy personality. Her and Alec have a slow burn romance that was a tease at times. For the majority of the story it was an engaging story , but fell flat at some points. Overall I really enjoyed this first book of the Elemental series and will be continuing with the other books.

Vampire Alec has been following fire Elemental Diana. There's something about her that he can't forget. Diana is searching for a little girl while Alec is searching for a little boy. They are both searching for the dark circle of witches who stole the children. This story has plenty of action, ending with romance and what looks like a HEA. Very highly recommended. I received a copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
