In the past: It is September 1939 and thousands of children are being evacuated from London. Deborah Crombie was born and educated in Texas. After living in both England and Scotland, she wrote her first Duncan Kincaid / Gemma James novel. She has since been nominated for the Agatha, Macavity and Edgar Awards and is published across the world. Deborah lives with her family in a small North Texas town and frequently visits the UK. Kissed a Sad Goodbye is her sixth novel.
