Keeper of Secrets

This book takes you on an intense, wild ride from beginning to end. The twists and turns just keep coming and will keep you on your toes. I loved getting the multiple POV’s from Carly, Marco and Hank, as it added more depth to the story. And I absolutely loved the appearances of characters from the Rose Gardner series. Denise has created such fantastic worlds and characters that I’m always happy to see them. I’ve been invested in Carly since she showed up in the Rose Gardner series. To say that I’m sad this is the last book of the series is an understatement. While I’m going to miss Carly, Marco, Max and Hank, this final book is AMAZING!! Be sure to clear your day, because you will not be putting this book down. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Keeper of Secrets is the final book in Denise's Carly Moore series and it doesn't disappoint! At the end of the last book, Shades of Truth, Carly finds herself kidnapped by Wyatt Drummond (her ex boyfriend and one of the sons of the town tyrant). Now Carly needs to figure out how to get out of this mess and get back to Marco (current boyfriend) and Hank (roommate and father figure) in order to bring down her own father and be able to live her life freely. Marco and Hank embark on their own journey to bring Carly back home safely. I loved that this book was written from multiple points of view. There were so many twists and turns that I did not see coming that I couldn't put the book down until I finished it. Plus we got to see some characters from Rose Gardner's world which was awesome! I really can't wait to see a certain character in Denise's new upcoming series.... This book should not be read out of order since it is the finale of the Carly Moore series.

The conclusion to the Carly Moore series or is it? I like these characters and I like that everything is related in some way to the Rose Gardner series. The cameos and references to the older books gives this series a homey feel. The questions related to the Carly Moore saga were definitely answered but a lot of other questions were raised so you can clearly see that there will be more books in the world and also that there will be more character development through cameos so we will get peeks at how Carly and Marco evolve. Overall, although all the major story arcs were finished, I don't think this was the strong finish that this series needed. I feel like there should have been more time spent with Carly's father to see more of his ruthlessness and the "why" of it all. Also, I think Wyatt's character development was jerky at best through the series as a whole. Will I keep reading in this world? Definitely as I am a fan of authors keeping a world alive.
