ZAAN: A Second Chance, Rockstar, Hockey Romance

The story did seem to be all about Lexi and her issues. Add in her stubborn and independent attitude, it was annoying and toxic to the overthinker, worrywart Zaan. Strength is not about shouldering it all alone but to have the courage to ask for help when you need it the most. To be strong together, not only for the good times but also for the bad. It appeared like she only returns to him when she's in trouble, but still Zaan welcomes her into his life. Too much ado for nothing. All it would have done was to meet each other halfway. Appreciate the good they do for each other. After all what mattered most amidst all the noise is that they are together, for better or worse. Through the fights, the on and off relationship, what shone through was their love and faith for each other. And in the end love won and life eventually settled down as they navigate the new chapter in their lives. It was also in the end that the reader was able to feel the joy they have with each other, mostly it was just toxic life drivel.

While the sex scenes were wonderful and steamy...Lexi ruined it for me! Selfish, immature, her way or no way. Zaan went above and beyond, took all the blame and was always there for her. Boo Lexi, you didn't deserve Zaan.

Plot doesn't make sense. Two people who didn't seem to have time to work on their relationship eventually decides to do it for life. No real effort to compromise and address issues they've been having for years and years. It seems like they learned nothing at all in the years they've been apart and just jumped right on to the same cycle. Female lead had a lot of hang ups which would've ensured a destructive pattern to her relationships. If you're into reading about toxic relationships, you've got the right book.
