Ellie wants more than a quiet country life. Hired by a friend to be her companion, Ellie gets a chance at a London season. She pines for Lucius, her best friend's brother. But his father has cut him off, and he's taken a disreputable job to cover his expenses. He knows he's not good enough for sweet Ellie. Can she convince him otherwise? This is a well-written story for readers who enjoy the reformed rake trope. Thanks, Booksprout, for the ARC. This is my honest and voluntary review

Ellie has been in love with her friend’s brother since forever. She also has been stuck in her small village to scare to branch off and have an adventure. Lucius on the other hand is drifting with no real purpose. Now with a chance to go to London for a season Ellie has gotten her chance at an adventure. The book touches also on Olivia and what her future might be. The book opened up at a very sad event for Olivia. I enjoyed the book and I liked Ellie’s list was fun to read

Modern Relatable Characters, Bookshops, Mysterious Romance, Hard working Men, No nonsense women…. Ellie is a capable woman with a no-nonsense attitude. She’s practical and spirted in a quiet way but entirely done with waiting for what she wants! Lucius has been doing what he can to survive not being supported by his family any longer. He is working hard to become an admirable self-made man. He is such a relatable modern character who keeps Ellie on her toes.
