Hypnotism: Fundamental Principles and Practice for Beginners (A Hypnotherapists Guide to Hypnotising in Person and Online)

I knew very little about hypnosis before getting this book other than seeing the occasional performance on TV. It is something I've always found fascinating, so I decided to learn more about it. This is the first book on the subject that I've gotten and I can highly recommend it to anyone that wants a really good guide to learning this skill. It highlights the importance of preparing yourself before you even begin to attempt hypnotizing someone because without the correct behaviour on your part, you won't be successful. It then goes into how to prepare your actual performance or therapy session, a must read section. Another important section the book covers is ethics and the law, which is essential to anyone that wants to make a business out of hypnosis. I thought the chapter that describes the different stages a person goes through during a hypnotic trance really interesting and helpful. Overall the book is an excellent guide that covers all the necessary areas someone needs to learn this cool skill and get started as an entertainer in this field.

I really love how to-the-point this book is seriously undervalued. It's exactly as it claims - a quick start guide. but that makes it easy for to go back and quickly find the terms I'm missing. A lot of hypnosis books I've read usually have a lot of fluff and banter to make the book seem bigger than it is. If there are any criticisms I have, it's probably that I wish there were maybe some drawings or something to even out the text. But for the price, this is amazing and all of this has worked for me so far.

I'm almost fully qualified as a hypnotherapist, but one thing my training is missing is the break down of language patterns. As I'm not the kind of person who can see myself charging customers and relying on scripts, this book has been a revelation. It's very easy to read and clearly presented so I'd highly recommend it.
