Among the Puritans, Flavel was known as the “theologian of the heart”. And this book is a masterpiece of his theological genius. He opens with the doctrine of the heart and then goes into the practicalities of “keeping the heart” – the how, when, and why of guarding our hearts. You cannot put this book down once you start reading it.
This book was originally published in 1840. This edition has been proofread, typeset for eBook readers, and lightly updated for modern readers.
