I am an herbalist and have used herbs for medicinal purposes for years. I am also a foodie and love to try new tastes in the kitchen. But I have never been able to keep an herb garden healthy. This book gives a solid introduction to get the beginner started in herb gardening. Many of the books I have read on the topic of gardening seem to take for granted that the reader has a base of knowledge already. This book makes no such assumptions. There is a chapter on troubleshooting that answered a lot of questions I have had in the past when I tried to garden. The index of herbs at the back is handy, too. It lists height, spacing, lighting needs, how to plant, and how to use each herb.
