About this ebook

The Hilarious and Completely True Inside Story of College Golf’s Powerhouse Program

From 1968 to 1973, the University of Houston created the greatest golf dynasty in NCAA history. Dozens of highly competitive young golfers thought they’d be a starter but few ever were. They fought for just five spots. And at the center was legendary coach Dave Williams building Houston into a powerhouse while driving the team to each tournament in his signature green station wagon.

As part of that #1 college golf program, Hall of Fame instructor Jim McLean’s latest page-turner shares the college life, the intense NCAA rivalries, the team’s stars and their biggest rivals—many who went on to win professional championships, and shows what it really takes to create lasting greatness—and why it’s so hard to do.

Like a Dan Jenkins or Rick Reilly read, McLean’s stories are witty and unforgettable, and he has so many, in fact, that The Houston Dynasty captures the very best of them
