The Heartbreaker Bay series by author Jill Shalvis has quickly become a favorite of mine. Jill's an ace at crafting stories that revolve around an eclectic and captivating cast of characters, a world that immediately draws the reader in and makes them feel like a part of the action. ACCIDENTALLY ON PURPOSE is Archer's and Elle's story, and I absolutely loved it. There has been something between Archer Hunt and Elle Wheaten since the night that they met 8 years ago. That something has evolved and changed over time, but it's always been there, and both Elle and Archer know it. Elle holds herself responsible for Archer throwing away his career in order to save her, and Archer feels responsible for Elle, making it his business to keep tabs on her. Stir in a lot of untapped chemistry, and you've got the recipe for one heck of an explosion. I absolutely adore Archer. He doesn't know quite what to do with Elle, but he can't stay away. And Elle, she's one heck of a totally take no prisoners chick, more than capable of taking care of herself and anyone else that comes along. The back-and-forth between them, the tension and heat, makes for some swoony exchanges, and I loved reading their interactions. Add in the awesome and quirky cast of characters that make up the rest of Elle's and Archer's circle of friends, and you've got my favorite kind of read. I really hope that Jill has more in store for us from Heartbreaker Bay, because Spence totally needs a book, as do Kylie and Elle's sister. In the meantime, though, 5 snarky, sexy, super-sleuthy stars. Read this book. Read all of these books, because they are all kinds of awesome, and I couldn't recommend them any more highly.

Whenever I don't know what I am in the mood to read, I always look to Jill Shalvis and her books. They always enter and never disappoint. Such is the case with Accidentally on Purpose, the third book in her Heartbreaker Bay series. You don't have to read these books in order as each one stands alone and is connected by characters or friends. Archer and Elle are tough. Tough individuals and were a little tough for me to fall in love with at first. The way they avoided each other was somewhat annoying yet I couldn't stop turning the pages and had a difficult time putting the book down. Shalvis' writing is like that. Even if you are not instantly fond of how the characters are acting you still find yourself immersed in their lives and you just can't turn away. As the story played out my heart gave way to Archer and Elle when they both turned a corner on how they were approaching their relationship and letting their guards down a bit. Their chemistry was off the charts and they fell into a comfortable rhythm. Not every relationship is the same in real life which makes books more entertaining when you have a couple like this. Their bickering works for them. They like to push each other. They both like control. Shalvis did an excellent job with these two. The supporting characters in the story are always great and I hope we get more of Joe and Spence in future books! I also adored the tiny bit of suspense this story offered. It was perfect for Archer and Elle's story. If you are looking for a sexy, contemporary romance story, give Accidentally on Purpose a read.

4.5 'You can't fight the Fountain' Stars! I love this Heartbreaker Bay series and have been excited to read Elle & Archer's book. After watching their antagonistic relationship through the first two books, their story promised to be exciting, and combustible and it definitely did not disappoint. Elle and Archer have a long history that is both complicated and remorseful. Elle has grown into a strong and independant woman from the young scared and alone girl she was when they first met. Archer felt protective of her from the start and would never want to remind her of those bad times. They both wanted each other but had erected thick walls to protect themselves from passed events and possible heartbreak. So instead they challenged each other at every turn but were always there when they needed each other. I really like Elle and Archer, they are great characters. They are both strong, confident badasses, except when it came to each other. They pushed, challenged and effected each other like no other. When they finally did give in, their chemistry was explosive. This was a more suspenseful and dramatic story than the first two books. Elle and Archer both have a darker and more troubled backstory that was both intriguing and thrilling. But it was still weaved with quirky, loyal friends who are all up in their business, witty banter and the entertaining situations that Ms Shalvis does best. I can't get enough of this group of friends and can't wait for the next book!
