About this ebook

The only mistake Lady Adelle Thornber ever made turned into a scandal that rocked London and saw her banished to Scotland, the reluctant bride of a reclusive baron. But Lord Henry MacAulay isn’t what she was expecting: he cares deeply for his barony and for her.

As the sole heir to the Roseheath title and werewolf alpha, Henry knew that he had to take a mate someday. He just didn’t expect to find her in a disgraced noble’s daughter forced into marriage with him.

As he falls more deeply in love with Adelle, he can’t bring himself to tell her what he really is. But if he doesn’t, it may not be his werewolf nature that could tear them apart.

Lady Adelle Thornber had been tainted by a scandal that rocked London and she has been banished to Scotland to marry Lord Henry MacAulay, Baron of Roseheath. She is being chaperoned by the Frederick Stone, Duke of Wexfield whose lecherous nature is well known. As long as he keeps his hands to himself, she doesn’t really care that he is there. It was snowing and she was very cold. Wexfield offered her a proposition. He needed heirs to pass his lands to, and she would never get a good marriage, so he wanted her to marry him and give him children. She refused. He had seen bruises on his mistresses and she wanted no part of him. At last they reached Roseheath and Wexfield refused to stay the night, which seemed to relieve everyone. As the sole heir to the Roseheath title and werewolf alpha, Henry knew he had to have a mate. He doesn’t look forward to telling her what he is, but he will have to when they talk about children. Will that discussion end their marriage? Will she be unwilling to have his werewolf children? I really enjoyed this story which mixes so many different things in a new presentation with horse-drawn conveyances along with steam ones and dirigibles! It was fascinating. The story have good pacing, even as they were getting to know each other. I really like Henry and his dignified yet easy-going ways. I look forward to continuing with this author. The writing was good and the story enjoyable and quite different.

Adele was being sent to the far reaches of Scotland by order of the queen because she disgraced her family. A family friend and fiend, Lord Wexler, accompanied her to her destination and offered to marry her instead with threats. Henry’s family held a secret and the queen held it over his head to marry Adele. While Adele and Henry began their fun and intriguing romance, interesting, exciting, romantic, dangerous, situations arose while lies, family secrets, doubts, miscommunication, and real love are experienced.
