About this ebook

He needs a fake girlfriend. She’s avoiding romance…until Bluestar Island’s first vintage grand prix sends their hearts colliding into each other.

Maxine “Maxi” Daniels runs her own auto shop in Virginia, but when she learns of an auto race with a cash prize on Bluestar Island, she’s determined to compete. After her father passed on, the only family Maxi has is her aunt. And now it’s Maxi’s turn to help her aunt by winning the race and collecting the prize money needed to fix up her aunt’s aging home.

Game designer Owen Turner has written off dating after his last disastrous relationship. However, when unbeknownst to him someone signs him up for the island’s first bachelor auction, he’ll do anything to stop the ladies from hitting on him…including getting a fake girlfriend.

So, when his life collides with Maxi’s, he offers her a deal she can’t refuse. But when their charade starts to feel real, will they be able to deny their growing attraction?

I was drawn in from page one and thoroughly enjoyed reading until the last page. I loved that Maxi's occupation is in a male dominated industry and that she is killing it! I loved that Owen did not disparage or minimize her abilities. I also love that a learning disability is represented in the story, we don't see enough of that. The story is well written, flows well and was realistic. I found the characters charming & relatable. This is an ARC via Booksprout & this is my voluntary review.

This is a wonderful story, perfect for a quiet afternoon in the garden enjoying this heatwave. As usual, Jennifer's characters really come to life and her descriptions of their surroundings make you feel like you are right there with them, experiencing it all for yourself.

Cute beach read I loved the characters. I love the controversy she held in her head over how she wasn’t good enough, meanwhile she had many talents and was just afraid to look at them. Fun the see a small town envelope a couple and be happy for them. I enjoyed this book. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
