The author graduated from the Academy Acupuncture of Surabaya (AAS) which at that time was the first and only acupuncture higher education in Indonesia. After graduating and obtaining an Associate Degree in Acupuncture, the author worked as a teaching assistant for two years. Then returned to his hometown and worked at the Community Health Center for approximately 8 months providing acupuncture services to the community. In early 2009, he decided to move to Surakarta City and work at the Acupuncture Clinic in the same year the author entered as a civil servant at the Health Polytechnic of Surakarta. Then continued his higher education in Acupuncture and Postgraduate education in Public Health Sciences at Sebelas Maret University (UNS). Since 2006, the author has been actively pioneering the establishment of the professional organization, the Indonesian Acupuncture Therapist Association (HAKTI) and became the General Chairperson. Currently active as a Lecturer in the Acupuncture Department, Surakarta Ministry of Health Polytechnic and a member of the Indonesian health workers council.
