About the author

Jarrad D. Plante is Unit Leader for AmeriCorps NCCC FEMA Corps. His research interests include service-learning, community engagement and national service. He has published, presented, and won awards for his scholarship in these areas.

Amy Ellis is Director of the Center for Community Schools at the University of Central Florida, USA where she has helped grow Florida’s community schools from a single-building concept in 2009 to a state-wide twenty-nine site initiative.
