About this ebook

A security guard, a mercenary, a lawyer, a thief, and a reanimated mummy walk up to a food truck…

Elizabeth “Eliza” Cunningham has always known what she wants, whether tha’s a medal in an Olympics qualifier (Bronze!), acceptance to an anthropology program at an elite university (Oxford!), or her many sexual conquests (except her childhood best friend Reese Eldin, who was, admittedly, a drunken mistake). But when her parents are killed in a car crash, Eliza’s aspirations die along with them, and she flees as far away as the insurance money can get her: Cairo, Egypt. There, she runs a food truck called Shawarma Warrior King. She’s a good cook and scores an exclusive contract at a dig site (unfortunately, managed by Reese).

But trouble has a way of following Eliza. An accident at the dig site awakens a disgraced pharaoh called Milfonnos the Blighted One, whose delusions of grandeur have not faded in the last five thousand years. To stop him, Eliza must enlist the help of Jack Manning, a hunky security guard; Yong-Jin Hak, a mercenary; Rafi Sabbagh, a lawyer and her downstairs neighbor; and Teo Carranza, a belly-dancing thief. The group embark on a treasure hunt and heist to stop the pharaoh’s violent attack on the city. As tensions rise, Eliza finds that she has feelings for all the men—including Milfonnos.

But someone in the group isn’t happy with the harem, and his motives aren’t as transparent as they seem.

This story contains verbal abuse, explicit violence and gore, graphic sexual content, strong language, and more. Know the acts, events, and characters are purely fiction.

About the author

Author of the Klauden’s Ring Saga and the Conjuring Fascination series, JM Paquette writes fantasy and paranormal romance novels. When she isn’t writing, she can be found teaching English to college students as Dr. Paquette or watching her favorite Russian shifter romance movie, I Am Dragon. Her areas of expertise include the history of the English language and the intricacies of grammatical rules, but her favorite class to teach is on Lord of the Rings. (If you’ve ever wondered why English is a crazy language, watch her video series on YouTube under Editor JMPaquette!) She enjoys editing manuscripts for academic and creative writers alike, and she adores tabletop roleplaying (THAC0, anyone?) where her halfling ranger/Twi’lek adept/vampire wizard/[insert race and class here] is often underestimated. You can also find her guest co-hosting the podcast Drinking with Authors--even though she doesn’t drink, she loves getting to know fellow authors! Check out JM Paquette at authorjmpaquette.com and 4horsemenpublications.com, on Twitter @‌authorjmp and @‌editorjmp13, and as Author JM Paquette on Facebook and Instagram.
