دختر دوران نوجوانی با پسری به نام اطلس هست بعدها بعد از مرگ پدرش با یک جراح مغز و اعصاب آشنا میشه و با هم ازدواج میکنند پسر کتکاری مکینه چند بار و حتی تا مرز تجاوز بعد هم دختره بخاطر بچه اش این دوران رو جدا از هم زندگی میکنند و بعد برای آینده فرزندش از هم جدا میشن و میره با اطلس ازدواج میکنه و اطلس پدر خوبی برای بچه اش میشه ادامه کتاب هم میشه جلد دوم یعنی ما شروعش میکنیم نسخه های فارسی و ترجمه اش سانسور شده است . نتیجه کتاب هم اینه که بنیان خانواده مسئله مهمی پدر خوب بودن و مادر خوب بودن مهمه و بچه ها به خانواده سالم نیاز دارن
