Mali is a landlocked country in West Africa, bordered by Niger to the east, Burkina Faso to the south-east, Cรดte d'Ivoire to the south, Guinea to the south-west, Senegal to the west, and Mauritania to the north and north-west. The country has a rich cultural history, with evidence of human settlement as far back as 10,000 BC. Mali is home to several important cultural sites, including the ancient city of Timbuktu and the Dogon people, known for their unique architecture and spiritual practices. Mali also has a strong tradition of music and dance, with the griot tradition of oral storytelling and praise singing being an important part of the country's cultural heritage.
