Laut repräsentativen Umfragen schätzt sich jede/r Dritte in Deutschland heute als politisch "links" bzw. "eher links" ein. Zugleich scheint das Verständnis davon, wer und was heute "links" ist, immer diffuser zu werden. Als Selbstbeschreibung wird u.a. das Bild der "Mosaik-Linken" bemüht, das auf eine Einheit in der Vielfalt verweist. Das vorliegende Buch nimmt dieses breite Spektrum der "Linksaffinen" auf der Grundlage empirischer Erhebungen genauer in den Blick. Untersucht wird, welche Deutungsmuster und Wertvorstellungen und damit verbundene politische Praxen hinter der individuellen Selbstverortung als im weitesten Sinne "links" stehen und welche Konturen das "Mosaik" der Linksaffinen jenseits der von der Metapher ebenfalls evozierten Assoziationen "bunt" und "zersplittert" aufweist.
