Kenneth Grahame (Edimburgo, 1859 – Pangbourne, 1932) lavorò come alto funzionario della Banca d’Inghilterra. Scrisse la sua opera più famosa, Il vento tra i salici, per il figlio, Alastair, a cui spediva gli episodi di Topo, Talpa e Rospo per lettera, durante le sue trasferte di lavoro.
