Jill Fryman (Friday to her friends) is a Line Supervisor at a truck manufacturing plant in a small southern Indiana town—and life on the assembly line is almost as predictable as her love life. When it comes to matters of the heart, Friday always seems to be making the wrong choices.
Things go from bad to worse when El, a sultry labor organizer from the UAW, sweeps into town to unionize the plant right after it’s been bought out by a Japanese firm. ANN McMAN is a recipient of the Alice B. Lavender Certificate for Outstanding Debut Novel, and a four-time winner of the Golden Crown Literary Award. Her novel, Backcast, was a 2016 IPPY medalist, and her novel, Hoosier Daddy, was a 2014 Lambda Literary Award finalist. An award-winning graphic designer, she resides in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
SALEM WEST is the publisher of Bywater Books, and a Trustee of Lambda Literary. Salem and her wife, author and graphic designer Ann McMan, collaborated on the novel Hoosier Daddy, which was a Lambda Literary Award Finalist in 2014. They reside in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
