Kamlesh Kapur, an educator and researcher, has a Masters in Economics, and a Masters in Education. She has written several books in Hindi and English and numerous papers, short stories, and poems which have appeared in prestigious papers and magazines. Kamlesh Kapur has conducted several workshops for parents and teachers on how to learn to coexist in a diverse world with myriad faiths and multiethnic demography. To that end, she has prepared lessons and techniques for teaching subjects such as Cultural Diversity, Pluralism and Multiculturalism. As a guest speaker in high schools, colleges, outreach programs, and interfaith panel discussions, she highlights key beliefs of Hindu dharma and significant aspects of Indian culture. As a teacher for over two decades, she found existing depictions of Hindu Dharma inadequate. This compelled her to research original texts and write a new book to help readers gain a greater understanding and appreciation of Hindu Dharma. Her earlier book, Portraits of a Nation-History of Ancient India was the result of thirty years of research, and has been hailed as path breaking work on evidence based historiography.
