It was infinitely worse when everyone in the world insisted it couldn't have happened the way he knew it had. In a world where ESP and telepathy were normal, it was difficult to keep secrets. George Oliver Smith was an American science fiction author and electronics engineer. His most active writing period was during the 1940s with many of his pieces appearing in Astounding Science Fiction, including his first story, "QRM - Interplanetary", published in 1942.
