Phillips is Director of the Institute of Population Studies and Reader in Health Studies at the University of Exeter, and Chair of the International Geographical Union Commission on Health, Environment and Development. Yola Verhasselt is Professor of Geography at the Free University, Brussels, and was Chair of the International Geographical Union Commission on Health and Development.
