I see on page 52 the following: "It is not difficult to see that a perfect bayesian equilibrium is subgame perfect". This claim is patently false, and casts doubt on the reliability of the text as a whole.

Though I haven't read this book, I completely disagree with the reviewer who said that about page 52 of this book. Every Perfect Bayesian Equilibrium (PBE) is a Subgame Perfect Nash Equilibrium (SPNE) as it is a stronger solution concept. The reviewer who ditched this book for stating the obvious clearly hasn't even studied introductory-level game theory or else would not have made such an elementary mistake
