Christlicher Gottesdienst wird in klar voneinander unterscheidbaren konfessionellen Gestalten gefeiert. Diese sind eng verbunden mit der jeweiligen Theologie, Frömmigkeit und Glaubenspraxis und auch Quelle und Ausdruck von Identität. Doch was ist das jeweils Spezifische, das hinter den vordergründigen, sich in der Feier darstellenden Gottesdienstgestalten liegt? In fünf grundsätzlichen Beiträgen wird die Tiefengrammatik der konfessionellen Haupttypen des Gottesdienstes entschlüsselt. Dabei werden primäre theologische Grundentscheidungen, Glaubensprägungen und Handlungsstränge freigelegt. Anhand der gottesdienstlichen Schriftlesungen, des Confiteors und der Fürbitten wird in drei weiteren Beiträgen veranschaulicht, wie die Stellung und Verwendung von gottesdienstlichen Elementen mit der Tiefenstruktur zusammenspielen bzw. was deren Veränderung für die heutige Gottesdienstpraxis bedeutet. [Depth Dimensions of Worship] Christian worship is celebrated in forms which are very clearly distinguished denominationally. These forms are closely connected with the theology, piety and practice of faith of each denomination and also a source and expression of identity. But what is unique behind each form of worship which expresses itself in celebration? In five fundamental contributions the deep grammar of the denominational main types of worship is decoded. In doing so fundamental theological decisions, faith conditionings and modes of action are revealed. It is shown how the elements of church service interact with the deep structure resp. what their transformation would mean for a current practice of worship.

Hanns Kerner, Prof. Dr. theol., Jahrgeng 1950 ist außerplanmäßiger Professor für Praktische Theologie an der Friedrich-Alexander Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg. Bis 2014 leitete er das Gottesdienst-Institut der Evangelisch-Lutherischen Kirche in Bayern.
