Informazioni su questo ebook

Green Membrane Technology Towards Environmental Sustainability covers experimental and theoretical aspects of greener membranes and processes. The book fills the gap in current literature and offers a platform that introduces and discusses new routes in fabricating green membranes and processes for developing green membranes. Although membranes and membrane processes have decades of history, rapid development in membranes manufacturing and emerging membrane driven markets is requiring new and more sustainable engagement of manufacturers, membrane operators and scientists. This book is written for chemical and polymer engineers, materials scientists, professors, graduate students, as well as general readers at universities, research institutions and R&D departments in industries who are engaged in sustainable engineering and practical strategies in circular economy. - Provides a broad reference base on a wide range of information on greener technologies and new generation membranes - Details experimental and theoretical aspects of the greener membranes and processes - Dedicated exclusively to greener routes for fabricating sustainable membranes in separation and delivery applications

Informazioni sull'autore

Dr. Ludo Dumée is Professor of separation materials within the Chemical Engineering Department of Khalifa University, in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Ludo is a materials engineer interested in the development and application of advanced separation materials, primarily focused on membranes and catalysts. His research interests lay in the understanding of nanoscale interactions between contaminants and surfaces as well as the design of reactive and stimuli-responsive materials in the water, gas and healthcare applications. His work has been focused on the development of innovative solutions to tackle environmental challenges arising from emerging micro-pollutants, such as PFAS or microplastics, as well as the simultaneous separation and conversion of gases into fuels and monomers to facilitate resource recovery and conversion. He is a strong advocate of Circular Materials Manufacturing and Engineering approaches and of low-footprint separation technologies development. Ludo Demée published a book as a single author and participated in the preparation of over 10 book chapters. He has been editing research journals since 2016 both for special issues and as an associate Editor of the Journal of Water Process Engineering.

Mohtada Sadrzadeh is Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of Alberta, Canada. His research focuses on membrane separation processes for water and gas treatment;, and thin film composite and nanocomposite membranes.

Mohammad Mahdi A. Shirazi is currently a postdoctoral researcher in the Center for Membrane Technology, Department of Chemistry and Bioscience at Aalborg University, Denmark. He received his PhD degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Kashan. His current research interests focus on membrane technologies for resource recovery, desalination, wastewater treatment, and remediation of emerging contaminants, all towards environmental sustainability and the circular economy. He is also keen on materials development and nanofiber membranes for advanced separation technologies. He has contributed to many academic and industrial projects. He also co-edited a book about nanofiber membranes and published >45 references, including international refereed journal papers and book chapters. He has also delivered several invited talks at international events. He has been editing special issues and collections and reviewing for high-ranked journals from reputed publishers. He has a significant commitment to the advancement of cleaner and greener technologies for environmental sustainability and the circular economy.
