Citizenship has been taught in school around the world for many years now, and is due to be introduced to the UK curriculum over the next few years. Ian Davies and Ian Gregory are lecturers in Educational Studies at the University of York. Shirley C. Riley has been a teacher, school administrator and university faculty member in teacher education and programme administration.
