Combined, their lives cover 200 years of history, and touch on numerous fields from historical geography to popular geography.

Elizabeth Baigent is University Reader in the History of Geography, University of Oxford, UK. She is Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries, the Royal Historical Society, the Royal Geographical Society, and the Higher Education Authority.
André Reyes Novaes is Professor of Geography at the University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
