This work which focusses on Rural Marathi literature is a collection of 17 articles written between 1968 and 1979. The author who is a senior and eminent author and literary critic has made a critical review of rural literature. He traces its origin, development, describes its form, source of stimulation, scope and depth. The author has made an analytical study of language in rural literature, which is significant to students of both language and literature.
