Managing a country, your work or even your own life, all are projects in themselves and the person managing such projects is project manager. A project manager’s functions and responsibilities could be divided into minute key result areas or KRAs. A man at a laundry may have fewer responsibilities than a managing director or a prime minister but conceptually their projects are similar. Prem Vardhan, 73, was lucky to have very good parents and teachers who guided him to become a successful professional. He lived a tough life, with many successes and failures. He saw a good progress curve under the guidance of his mentors. With their help, he could look back at his and other’s mistakes and achievements, analyze them and implemented learnings in his life and career.
Prem, a chartered civil engineer, spent most of his time on interesting and challenging mega projects from concept to completion. His last assignment, spanning five years, was as executive director of an Indian multinational undertaking infrastructure development in Papua New Guinea.
His other books include:

• Administrative and Human Resource Solutions for Construction Projects
• Papua New Guinea—A Business Destination
