I really enjoyed reading this book, and I think it's my favorite so far in the series. I loved both Trudy and Paul. I found them both to be relatable characters. Trudy and her son, Troy stole my heart. I liked that Trudy wanted to do certain things for herself before she got into a relationship, and I loved that Paul gave her the space to do that. This series is pure escapism with hot rich guys, beautiful women, and everything always gets tied up in a nice neat little bow of happily ever after. At times I couldn't help think of how easy things seemed for Trudy being in the situation she was in as a single mother who went back to school, and then had to find a job. It seemed far too easy for her to find the perfect job, and then get the subsequent promotions. But as I said, this is pure escapism and I'm able to mostly ignore the things that I find unbelievable. I also appreciate that these are clean romance books that focus on romance instead of sex, and they remind me a lot of Hallmark movies, which are also pure escapism. If you enjoy escaping into these sorts of books then you will probably like it.

I loved this book at first. But then two things happened that made me dislike it: 1) the fact that Trudy could still say she kinda liked James Fullton when he was going to destroy Paul's project that took time, money and teamwork from his team. For someone who was poor she didn't act like it nor realized the effort to launch that product. 2) If Paul's family really did love him, they would've been understanding and supportive of his side company. Paul did nothing to jeopardize their shared company, not in the slightest. And he was gonna tell them anyway. Made me think they were selfish instead, for making him feel that he was in the wrong for trying to achieve something all on his own without relying on Luke. To me it was out of character for Luke and his supposedly loving family. Basically, bad writing. This is just my opinion. You're entitled to yours.

The author hits it out of the park once again! After reading her books, I get the feeling that she would be a wonderful person and amazing friend! Some authors seem to just put words on a page....Ms. Baker really cares about her characters and their development. She respects the individuals she writes about and her readers. Bravo!! 👏

About the author

Bridget won her first writing contest in first grade with a story about a day in the life of a little spot of air. (Who says you need a good hook?)

She hasn't stopped writing (or talking) since then, although she was briefly derailed by her pursuit of a legal career. Ultimately, boring words, well, bored her. She quit her job to spend less time counting gobs of ill gotten gains, and more time writing stories.

She loves her husband and all five of her kids (most days). She has a yappy dog and a bouncy dog, three goofy horses, a demanding cat, two lion's head rabbits, and more chickens than she cares to admit. (Chicken math is REAL!) Every day is a battle between playing with kids, riding her horse Leo, and writing. If her publication speed has slowed down, you can blame the kids and the horse.

She makes cookies all the time, and thinks they should have their own food group. In a possibly misguided attempt at balancing the scales between overconsumption and exertion, she kickboxes every day. So if you don't like her kids, her cookies, or her books, maybe don't tell her in person.
