Jessie and Asher’s love story Heart of Texas Warrior by Eve Gaddy, book four in her Heart of Texas series, was a wonderful, sexy, emotional and enjoyable tale. Strong, independent Jessie McBride meets former Green Beret Asher Chapman for the second time while doing PT for a leg that was broken in a car accident; the first time was at the scene of the accident. These two share an instant attraction and learn that they share a number of interests. Jessie rescues and raises mustangs on her family’s ranch, while Asher established and runs a foundation that matches veterans, who don’t qualify for service dogs, with shelter animals. The magnetism and chemistry between them fuel their physical connection. Asher knows that Jessie has no problems dealing with his physical wounds, but he struggles to believe that any woman could handle his secret; one he is unable to even face. As much as he desires Jessie, and love her, he fears telling her what it is that haunts him, as he fears she will leave him; like his last girlfriend. Jessie is not fooled by Asher and is confused by his behavior about spending the night and what is keeping him from sharing his secrets. Asher needs to learn how to trust Jessie to love all of him before he loses the best thing that could ever happen to him. Ms. Gaddy wrote a wonderful and emotional story that is definitely not to be missed. She provided a tale rich with sexual chemistry, amusing banter, and endearing characters giving Jessie and Asher a chance at a forever love and a future together. I highly recommend Heart of Texas Warrior to other readers. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

This is a book that draws you in there is so much emotion and angst without it been over the top and driving you away The book flows well and keeps you engaged until the very last page. While this is the fourth book in the series it is a total stand alone as each book is a about separate couple with only overlapping characters in it I had no trouble following the story even though I hadn't read the previous books Jessie McBride is the youngest of four siblings and the only girl she is totally involved in the breaking and raising of mustangs on her family ranch so when she breaks her leg she becomes grumpy and frustrated at not been able to do the work she loves. When she is sent for physical therapy for her leg she meets Asher He is a returned vet who is also going through therapy for his injuries but he has injuries much deeper than the physical ones on show and not all are related to his military service . He works connecting veterans with animal companions. The attraction between them is off the charts but can she break down the walls he has placed around himself and will he ever stop the drawing her to him then pushing her away. Can they have a future together You will have to read to see.

I LOVED this book! Eve Gaddy has added another great book to the McBride series of Last Stand, Texas. It had me turning the pages from the very first to the last. Jessie McBride is a true cowgirl and did not follow the family's footsteps to be part of the medical field. She breads Spanish Mustangs and rescues wild horses until a accident forces her to stop and take a break. In comes Asher Chapman to the rescue. Asher is a former Green Beret that has a foundation that matches Veterans with stray dogs. They first meet by accident one night. Then as luck would have it they met again in Physical therapy. They are a true mach made in heaven if only Asher can admit his problem. Can Jessie help him to understand she isn't like his last girlfriend and give love a chance. I have loved this series and would definitely recommend it. You will love it I promise. I was given a ARC in return for my honest review.
