At thirty-five, Julie “JJ” Jensen is a star in the Crystal City fire department. She runs circles around other firefighters. When her talent leads to a fast-tracked promotion, she loses her boyfriend and gains a crew who resent her. Their first call is a hospital fire, where she saves the lives of both a doctor and his patient in the midst of open-heart surgery.
