About this eBook

A famous surgeon and a female firefighter struggle to make a life together despite how their worlds clash.

At thirty-five, Julie “JJ” Jensen is a star in the Crystal City fire department. She runs circles around other firefighters. When her talent leads to a fast-tracked promotion, she loses her boyfriend and gains a crew who resent her. Their first call is a hospital fire, where she saves the lives of both a doctor and his patient in the midst of open-heart surgery.

Dr. Nick Barrows immediately gravitates to JJ. She risked life and limb to save him and she’s easy on the eyes. When he pursues her, JJ is having none of it. The Sisters of Fire encourage her to give Nick a chance. But they live in opposite worlds: hers is fire houses and beer, his is galas and champagne.

Even though they grow closer and closer sharing their experiences, having quiet meals and sizzling sex at night, can she ever see herself permanently living his lifestyle or will she subject them both to what becomes biting loss?

I have enjoyed the Sisters of Fire series. This story focused on JJ. She lost her self confidence because of her ex-boyfriend. Then she had the good fortune of meeting Nick. I loved him because he was so accepting of her job and routine, even wanted to learn more about it, as well as patient with her, strong enough to think of her as an equal. With the support of the other Sisters, JJ found the strength to take a chance on happiness. I look forward to the next in the series. I received a copy of this story through Enticing Journey Book Promotions, and this is my unsolicited review.

A push for women made JJ Jenson a captain. A fire at the hospital, finding the surgical room filled with smoke overcoming the surgeon. Nick wanting to meet the person who saved him, sparks were there from the beginning. JJ pushed him away, she felt inferior in his world. As Derrick couldn’t accept who she was and left. .Tables are turned, can she accept the new love. Enjoyable as love comes for them. Given ARC for my voluntary review and my honest opinion

4 Star reviews of Equal Partners (Sisters of Fire #4) by Kathryn Shay Equal Partners is book four in Kathryn Shay's latest series and this was a good addition to the series. This is fire fighter Julie (JJ) Jensen and Dr. Nick Barrows’ story. JJ is on the fast track in her career and was recently promoted to Captain and as such has lost her boyfriend and numerous colleagues resent her. She is not looking for romance but when she sees Nick operating on a patient right next door to a fire, she immediately acts to save them both. To thank JJ for saving them, Nick takes a her a gift and is attracted to the beautiful fire fighter. Having recently come out of a relationship she has no interest in starting another, however Nick has other ideas. Will Nick support her and her career? Can he convince her to take a chance? I enjoyed this story line, it was fast paced with characters whose story you cannot help but become invested in. It was also great to see some familiar faces make an appearance.
