I loved the free spiritness of Violet as much as I loved the clumsy nature of Carter. Throw in she is his fated mate and she believes in love at first sight, everything would be smooth sailing, right? Nope, because he causes some issues but they can’t dwell on them as the bad guys are closing in. Add in some sibling interference on both their parts, and a grumpy dragon-in-law, and things get off-track, side-tracked, and on-track at the wrong times and on less than ideal timelines. It all works out in the end because these two were made for each other!

About the author

Eliza Gayle is a Top 10 New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of steamy fantasy and paranormal romance, known for crafting passionate, high-stakes love stories featuring alpha heroes with a growly edge.

Since publishing her first book in 2007, Eliza has captivated readers with magical worlds, fated mates, and the kind of supernatural heat that lingers long after the final page. She is best known as the creator of the immersive Southern Shifters universe—where wolves, dragons, fae, and witches collide in stories rich with power, destiny, and primal connection.

Eliza lives in a small town across the water from Seattle, where she writes books, hunts for treasure, and watches superhero movies with her real-life hero husband—a Black Hawk crew chief with a National Guard Medivac unit.
