Dr. Albert (Ab) Chudley is a retired pediatrician and medical geneticist. He was awarded the title of Professor Emeritus from the University of Manitoba. He has enjoyed over 40 years of practice as an academic physician. Professionally, he participated in a busy medical practice and service, taught students at the undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate levels, performed and directed medical research, and was involved in medical administration throughout his career. He published numerous research abstracts, peer reviewed journal articles, book chapters and books. Ab was involved in several national and local agencies, advisory boards, health care boards and committees. He remains engaged in teaching, serving on graduate student committees, and continues to write and edit journal articles and books. He is the recipient of many awards and honours including the Founders Award from the Canadian College of Medical Geneticists, the Andre Boivin Visiting Professorship from the Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto, a Manitoba Service Excellence Award, and the Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee Medal for Manitoba. Ab and his wife Jenny do volunteer work through their church. They are the proud parents of 5 outstanding children and 13 wonderful grandchildren who all live in Manitoba.
