Blending stark realism with the surreal and fantastic, Eve L. From Chicago, Eve L. Ewing is a writer and sociologist. Her works include the nonfiction Ghosts in the Schoolyard: Racism and School Closings on Chicago's South Side, the poetry collection 1919, and the Ironheart series as well as other titles for Marvel Comics. She is an assistant professor at the University of Chicago School of Social Service Administration.
