Steve Davis
Steve Davis was born the son of a working class family in the late 1950’s on the edge of London, where industrial London meets Essex countryside. He is the the youngest of three children.
He spent his formative years on a diet of ‘Carry On Films’, Benny Hill and the likes, and after leaving High School he began a degree course in photography in a Central London college, spending much of his spare lunch time in Soho, Carnaby Street, amongst the ‘Peep Shows’, Adult Theatres and ‘Models’ that were prolific in that area, and evenings and weekends in the Nightclubs and Disco’s in Ilford, Romford, Basildon and Southend. He’s no stranger to the seedier side of life.
In later life he became involved in theatre, fitting in well with the decadent, bohemian characters of that lifestyle.
He writes about characters that live on the edge of respectability, drawing influences from his observations of true life.
