About this ebook

The Grey Wardens Return to Ferelden, Bringing a Dire Warning and a Desperate Plea for Aid

In Dragon Age: The Calling, the thrilling prequel to the hit role-playing video game Dragon Age: Origins, King Maric of Ferelden faces a grave threat. After two centuries in exile, he has finally allowed the legendary Grey Wardens to return, but they bring alarming news: one of their own has escaped into the Deep Roads and joined forces with the monstrous darkspawn, the Wardens' ancient enemy.

The Grey Wardens need Maric's help, and he reluctantly agrees to guide them through the treacherous passages he traveled years before. As they venture forth, pursuing a deadly secret that threatens to destroy both the Wardens and the Kingdom above, Maric must confront the past and safeguard the future of his realm.

Penned by David Gaider, lead writer of the Dragon Age series, this gripping tale of duty, sacrifice, and the power of choice is a must-read for fans of epic fantasy, high adventure, and the rich, immersive world of Thedas.

This really gives you great insight on grey warden, darkspawn, and Duncan's origins. One of the characters makes a surprising cameo in the next book, Asunder. Also tons of action!

I was skeptical at first to read it. Saw some reviews and gave it a try. Loved it, and it gives me a better appreciation for the dragonage universe. Definitely picking up the others as well.

Maric and his thing for elven women, he's still a fool of a king in my opinion.
