Kahn is not one to mix words or actions. His approach has always put directly and to the point; Usually with a certain degree of anger, violence, and revenge. Either path leads to uncertainty and lifelong Consequences.

There is a light and dark side to us all in regards to our thoughts and actions. There is also a touch of gray; all of it Influenced by what we experience, know, And taught. The path to redemption is long and hard. Will the negative influences from Kahn's old Gamma pack direct his actions or the teachings of his wise and considerate protectorate, Simeon? What is Alden's influence in this process? What's to Become of him? What are the wolves influences on him, and vice versa? Alden has his own demons to sort out. His final destination is uncertain as well. What's to Become of Alden's mammalian allies, Shasta, Condo, and the wolves? This book reveals all.

This book has put a pleasure to write, Such That It Became too large for just one book. It is in two volumes, with a third Considered, depending on public interest. Dire Encounters is a fiction and a work or result of my fascination with extinct megafauna of the Ice Age, admiration for the American Native Indian and my general fascination with life sciences in general. Dire Encounters has taken me seven years to write, edit, compose, illustrate, and finally publish.

I hope this book inspires, entertains, educates, and moves you as it did me while writing it. This was my goal for the reader, though I started writing for Entirely different Reasons. This book is much about me as it is the characters in it and a dream of mine ... That now share digitally on virtual paper with you. The journey within the plot is filled with Christian themes as I am a Christian above all else. Try and discover the hidden meaning, words, places, names, and numbers than have references to the Bible, Christianity, and God. May the Great Spirt Bless you.

Most of all Enjoy!

About the author

A huge fan of the living.  Earned a Zoology degree some decades ago but never got to use it.  One year I started volunteering at various animal sanctuaries and became hooked.  I spend all of my leave, holidays, and spare time volunteering in the service of animals.

This book is partly my desire to better communicate animals ... a wish that I could carry on a conversation with them as I do the average human. Realizing that's not possible, I have become adept at reading animal behavior and translating That to speech (in a way).

My favorite book is The Lion, Witch, and The Wardrobe (as you might expect).  One day I will use both my computer skills and understanding of science and biology to aid in the conservation of Cheetahs... my favorite cat.  I discovered a pleasant secret about them.  Though wild predators, they behave much like a domesticated cat when you get to know them and they like you.  That makes observing and understanding them in an empirical way that I could not otherwise.
