Diaspora Governance and Transnational Entrepreneurship: The Rise of an Emerging Global Social Pattern in Migration Studies

Until now, little has been done in linking business studies and migration studies in this particular field of research on diaspora politics and Transnational Entrepreneurship; besides, the focus has mostly been on identifying the key independent variables, patterns, and developing hypotheses on the favourable and non-favourable factors promoting migrant business involvement in the country of residence alone. This book collects the main findings of the European Horizonโ2020โRISE Project "DiasporaLink", a multidisciplinary project that has gathered the most prominent scholars in their respective field. Grounded in a variety of empirical evidences of the impact of Transnational Entrepreneurship, the book aims to explore the new global social pattern of entrepreneurs doing business transnationally.
The chapters in this book were first published as a special issue of the Journal of Ethnic and Migration Studies.

Ricard Zapata-Barrero is Professor of Political Science at the University Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona, Spain. Director of GRITIMโUPF (Interdisciplinary Research Group on Immigration). His main lines of research deal with contemporary issues of liberal democracy in contexts of diversity, especially the relationship between democracy, citizenship, and migration.
Shahamak Rezaei is Associate Professor at Roskilde University, Denmark. He is the winner of "Danske Bank" 2014 award in "Social Innovation & Social Entrepreneurship". His research focuses on Transnational-Knowledge-Transfer, Migration, Transnational Entrepreneurship and Diaspora Entrepreneurship. During 2015โ2019 he was Research Coordinator for the research project "DiasporaLink", financed by EU-REAโ โHorizon 2020โRISE Programโ.
