After Batman fails to save a young girl, he begins taking the drug in order to lift his limitations; however, when the Dark Knight becomes addicted to the substance, his entire life begins to spiral out of control. The drug Venom later goes on to play a major role in the KNIGHTFALL storyline that sees the villain Bane breaking Batman's back.

A fantastic story on Batman's obsession with his war on crime and how he lets his mistakes and failures constantly cloud his mind. The villains are truly deplorable and yet batman is so focused on the fact that he failed and needs to do better that he only notices when it's too late, and more people have been lost
