About the author

Dr. Deepika Koundal currently serves as a Senior Researcher at the University of Eastern Finland, specializing in artificial intelligence, computer vision, medical image processing, neuroimaging, and deep learning. She holds a B.Tech, M.Tech, and Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering and has received several prestigious accolades, including the MSCA Seal of Excellence from the European Commission. In 2023 and 2024, she was recognized as a top 2% researcher by Stanford University. Additionally, she is an Adjunct Researcher at Ho Chi Minh City Open University in Vietnam and a Senior Associate Professor at UPES, Dehradun, India. Dr. Koundal has earned multiple research excellence awards from UPES and has published numerous research articles, edited notable books, and holds several patents. Furthermore, she contributes as a guest and associate editor for leading journals, including those published by IEEE and Elsevier.

Dr Naveen Kuman is an Assistant Professor in the School of Design, UPES, Dehradun, India, where he is Principal Investigator at the Users Cognitive Load Centric Design Lab. He did his PhD in Human-Computer Interaction at Indian Institute of Technology Delhi and Postdoc in AR/VR based interface design from GNU, South Korea. His research focuses on measurement of cognitive load caused by complex user interface designs for smart factory (Industry 4.0). He has developed a design methodology to physiologically assess the cognitive load using brain signals and eye related data, and his research goal is to make tangible and virtual interfaces, systems and devices better based on the theories and methodologies of Human Factors and Human-Computer Interaction, especially in the fields of smart factory, VR/AR, and healthcare products. He has published 20 + articles in journals, international and national conferences. He has two national and two international awards in the field of HCI and product design. One patent in healthcare domain. He has total of 12 years of industry, research and teaching experience
