De Wet Hugo is ‘n laerskoolonderwyser en kinderboekskrywer. Tans woon hy steeds in die stad Hangzhou in China. De Wet het op ‘n Bolandse wynplaas grootgeword, maar hy beskou die Wes-Kaapse kusdorp, Kleinmond, deesdae as sy Suid-Afrikaanse tuiste. Meer as vyftien boeke het reeds uit sy pen verskyn, asook vele bydraes tot bundels soos Blinkertjies in Pa se baard en ander skitterende stories, Die skool vir rampspoedige talente en ander gelukkige stories en Tyd is ‘n b**ksem en ander belaglik lekker tekste. In 2023 was Die 13de dag in Chengdu op die kortlys vir die LAPA-Jeugromankompetisie.

THE AUTHOR
De Wet Hugo is a primary school teacher and children's book author. He currently still lives in the city of Hangzhou in China. De Wet grew up on a wine farm in the Boland, but nowadays he considers the Western Cape coastal town of Kleinmond as his South African home. More than fifteen books have already been published from his pen, as well as many contributions to collections such as Blinkertjies in Pa se baard en ander skitterende stories, Die skool vir rampspoedige talente en ander gelukkige stories, and Tyd is ‘n b**ksem en ander belaglik lekker tekste. In 2023, Die 13de dag in Chengdu was shortlisted for the LAPA Youth Novel Competition.
