Among contemporary Anglo-American philosophers and students there is a growing awareness of the need to engage more both with philosophical perspectives of other faith traditions and also the distinctive 'continental' tradition of philosophy.
This important new collection aims to engage philosophers from a variety of different backgrounds and traditions (religious and non-religious) to stimulate dialogue on philosophical method.
The volume aims to ask an emerging generation of philosophers - who specialize in philosophy of religion - to write about their personal understanding of the practice, method and future focus of the subject, with the ultimate goal of illustrating why this expanding subject area is important.
About the author
David Cheetham is Lecturer in Theology and Religious Studies in the Department of Theology and Religion, University of Birmingham, UK. He is the author of numerous articles for journals including Sophia, The Heythrop Journal, Studies in Interreligious Dialogue and Theology, and the book, John Hick (2003).
He is an Honorary Lecturer in the School of Philosophy, Theology and Religion at the University of Birmingham, UK. He was formerly Senior Lecturer in the Department of Theology at Newman College (now Newman University College), Birmingham. He is currently engaged in research projects at both the University of Birmingham and the University of Aberdeen. Rolfe King is currently based at the University of Birmingham as an Honorary Lecturer engaged in research in philosophy of religion, as well as being a Research Associate at the Queen's Foundation in Birmingham.
