I like a good sequel storyline (Splendid). I like knowing a little about a character before following their own storyline, it makes the book feel more personal. Had a typical brooding man, but he had great depth behind his reasoning for being distant and brooding, true life experiences(trauma) that made him all the more real. The ending felt a little rushed yet dragged a bit, I think I wanted more chapter development for minor characters.

The dialogue was very witty, however its story was not at believable. I really like Julia Quinn. This story line just wasn't in her wheelhouse.
