About this ebook

The aim of the book is to introduce the state-of-the-art technologies in the field of robotics, mechatronics and automation in agriculture in order to summarize and review the improvements in the methodologies in agricultural robotics.

Advances made in the past decades are described, including robotics for agriculture, mechatronics for agriculture, kinematics, dynamics and control analysis of agricultural robotics, and a wide range of topics in the field of robotics, mechatronics and automation for agricultural applications.

About the author

Prof. Dr. Dan Zhang is Kaneff Research Chair in Advanced Robotics and Mechatronics with the Department of Mechanical Engineering at York University, Canada. From July 1st 2004 to December 31 2015, Dr. Zhang was a Professor and Canada Research Chair in Advanced Robotics and Automation, and a founding Chair of the Department of Automotive, Mechanical, and Manufacturing Engineering at University of Ontario Institute of Technology. He received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Laval University, Canada, in June 2000.

Mr. Bin Wei is a PhD candidate at University of Ontario Institute of Technology, Canada. He is the assistant editor for the International Journal of Mechanisms and Robotic Systems, and the managing editor for the International Journal of Robotics Applications and Technologies.
