In reality, Asian/Americans in the United States are both the victims of crime and the perpetrators of crime. However, their characterization as the “model minority” masks the victimization and violence they experience in the twenty-first century.

Nicholas Daniel Hartlep Nicholas D. Hartlep is an Associate Professor of Urban Education and Chair of the Early Childhood and Elementary Education Department at Metropolitan State University in Saint Paul, Minnesota.
