Quelques mots sur l'auteur
English poet and cultural critic Matthew Arnold (1822–88) worked as an inspector of schools. A Professor of Poetry at Oxford, he was the first to teach in English rather than Latin, and his university lectures form the substance of Culture and Anarchy.
