I thought this book was very informative, and by no means tried to
discourage the giving to support the church and its members. But we must
realize we who have been in church for awhile, prayerfully have grown rich
in love, mercy , grace, forgiveness, and etc. God did not tithe part of his
Son, but he gave us the best. If 5 percent is my best and it is from my
heart, do not bring Malachi 3 into the picture (especially when taken out
of context). Don't tell me I will be cursed with a curse, when Galatians
3:13 says, Christ became the curse for me; and Romans 8:1 says, "now
therefore, there is no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus. So
who are you to judge my giving. Many quote Mathew 23:23, but realize Jesus
was talking to a Pharisee a leader of the law and the old testament
practices were still being practiced at that time. Just because I'm not a
tither does not mean I don't believe in Giving, I refuse to be bound by a
percentage. It's not a percent matter, it is a principle of the heart
matter. We building these extravagant churches while many are living in run
down shacks and card board boxes..but we as the church say we are for the
people. Too many prophets prophesying just to get a profit. The more money
I get, the more blessed I am, no the more money I give to those who are in
dire need, the more God will bless me so I can continue to bless others. I
rarely write reviews, but this tithing matter hits close to home. I'm just
rantinf, and I'm done for now..

I feel this book is telling to be selfish to God. Because to me giving to God is actually surrendering your financial to God is not about the money. Is about your attitude towards God. If u hold to much treasure on the earth , rather in heaven , you are telling God I don't need your help in my financial even your life is seems so well because of the richness u have, u already lost the trust from the start. Plus giving to God starts in your heart not thinking where did my money goes.

I used to tithe from my heart to every Every church I was a member of. For years. I seen my daughter's home needing dire repairs, we did nothing. But we tithe to the church. She also tithe to the church. My husband and I had needs as well. Our home also needed major repairs. But we tithe to the church. We finally filed bankruptcy, got out of debt. (Deut 15:1) 1 Thank God for His wisdom. We have since become ordained ministers. We do not have a physical church building, but a church without walls. We are the church. We take the church where God sends us. We give to our ministry, which in turn blesses the needs of others.(James 2:16). Especially single parents that need help. Like our divorced daughter with five children. We love to give to God. His people saved or not. Material things here on earth will perish. Matthew 6:19-20 No way, am I condemning church structure for I'm sure there are churches that do God's work I just pray that they will also do as Jesus does Jesus sees the needs.
