About this ebook

This short medieval text from the famed African physician Constantine discusses the differences between the soul and the spirit, beginning with an explanation of the spirit as a vital force originating from the heart and brain. It describes the physiological functions of the spirit in relation to life, breathing, and the pulse. This text also outlines the anatomical structure of the heart, including its ventricles and the flow of blood and spirit. Additionally, it mentions the exit of spirit at death and the implications for understanding life, while deferring a deeper exploration of related medical inquiries.
